The Alabama Day Net is a Section Net in the National Traffic System. The net is held every day, Sunday thru Saturday at 07:30 CT.

Jim Corbitt, W4XWA is the Net Manager and has served in this position since 2005. Jims story is:

I grew up in South Ga and I was first licensed around 1958 or 59 as a Novice with callsign KN4SLL. Later on upgraded to Conditional class as K4SLL.

Enrolled in Ga Tech 1962 and was inactive on the ham bands for many years.

Graduated from Tech with MSEE in 1968 and immediately entered the US Air Force. Went thru OTS and was commissioned 2nd Lt. Served 5 years in upstate New York and made it to Captain. Supported research projects involving digital communications.

Left USAF in 1973. Moved back to Atlanta, Ga. Moved to B’ham in 1987 and retired in late 2003. Around 1990, I was re-licensed as General with callsign N4XWA. Later changed the N to W.

Became active on ADN after retirement, and was asked to serve as Net Manager around 2005 or thereabouts.
